PURPOSE & MISSION

LifeSmarts is an Internet competition that encourages teenagers to learn about consumer issues. The program is run by the National Consumers League. Done in a game-show style for the state competitions, the content and competition questions focus on five key areas of consumer knowledge that teens need to know: Personal Finance, Health and Safety, Environment, Technology, and Consumer Rights and Responsibilities. In addition to the important information and knowledge that students gain, they also develop teamwork, self-esteem, verbal communication skills, and leadership abilities.
