February 7, 2022

Good evening Families and Members of the Barrington Community,

The Barrington School Building Committee would like to take this opportunity to provide you with a quick update on our upcoming community forums regarding the Master Facilities Planning process. Over the next several months, we will engage in a series of forums and workshops to demonstrate the condition of our facilities, the financial considerations to address these needs, the RIDE process for building improvement and or construction applications, and the conceptual visioning for the educational decisions connected to potential improvements or construction.

At our Building Committee meeting on February 3, 2022, it was suggested that the first in the series of these meetings be the week of February 7, 2022. We need additional time to communicate dates to all stakeholders to ensure that as many stakeholders who would like to attend are able. We understand the critical role our community plays in providing feedback that enables this Committee to make the best possible decision in planning for the future of our school buildings in giving our students the best possible education.

We will not be having a community engagement session the week of February 7, 2022. Instead, we will communicate four future dates, the purpose of each meeting, and the opportunity to participate, providing appropriate planning and notice.

Please note that you may find all communications, agendas, minutes, and planning documents on our new Building Committee Webpage https://www.barringtonschools.org/page/barrington-school-building-committee.

We look forward to extending our dialog to provide a more significant voice in the planning process. As a reminder, we will be evaluating the submission date to RIDE at our next Building Committee meeting. Under consideration will be moving the date to September 2022.   As such, this will slow down the process to allow for these engagement sessions to occur thoughtfully.

Have a good evening.
