Barrington School Committee Seeks Community Participation on Barrington School Building Committee
BARRINGTON, RI – The Barrington School Committee and School Administration seek members of the public to participate on the Barrington School Building Committee (BSBC) and assist in the development of a Master Facilities Plan for Barrington Public Schools. The main focus of the BSBC this spring and summer will be preparing a Stage II submission for the Rhode Island Department of Education, which is expected to be submitted on September 15, 2023.
This is an exciting and inspiring time for Barrington Public Schools. Serving on this committee is an opportunity for our community to help envision the future of Barrington Public Schools and have a voice on the direction of facility improvements and related construction projects to correct conditions and deficiencies of school buildings and increase educational equity.
To be included in the selection process, community members must submit an application for Barrington School Building Committee membership by March 31, 2023. Applicants will be notified of selection on April 6, 2023. If selected, BSBC members will need to be available to attend monthly meetings in the evening from April through the duration of construction.
