Please apply to join our Visioning Team to inform our facilities’ master planning. A small number of Barrington residents will work together in an intense, professionally facilitated workshop to help create the best conceivable schools for our town. This work will follow several open-call community meetings to define community values and planning parameters.
The Team will create a long-term Educational Vision for our schools. This Vision will define desired future teaching, learning, and school facilities concepts. The visioning will be done as the initial component of a Rhode Island Department of Education process to improve our school facilities.
This initiative of Barrington Public Schools will ensure that future facilities will be appropriate and effective. Participants in our Visioning Team will include educators, students, School Committee and School Building Committee members, municipal representatives, and business and institutional leaders.
Participation will require a commitment to two workshops conducted from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on May 16 and 17. A light breakfast and light lunch will be served.
The workshop will be stimulating, provocative, and enjoyable. It will be led by Dr. Frank Locker, a national expert on innovations in education and facilities that support it.
