The Barrington High School LifeSmarts Team consisting of (from left to right) Clement Hilty, Willis Bilderback, captain Daniel Sheinberg, Jonathan Zhang, Annika Kelly, and coach Samuel Schachter received an invitation to the national LifeSmarts competition after winning the Rhode Island LifeSmarts Competition in February. For the first time in the 25 year history of the LifeSmarts program, a team from Rhode Island was crowned national champions! Throughout the four day competition, the team from BHS went undefeated and earned a spot in the finals against the three-time champion team from Dallas, Pennsylvania who won in 2016, 2017, and 2018. The eagles soared to victory 250 - 239 to win the national title and earned over $11,500 in college scholarships.

Individually, the students had incredible success. On the written assessment portion of the competition, Rhode Island earned 1st place in four out of five categories breaking the all-time LifeSmarts record!
