Week Of: September 5, 2022

Important Info:

  • No School Monday, September 5th, 2022

  • If you are writing a dismissal note for your child, please be sure to include your child’s full name and the name of their teacher.

  • Fire, evacuation and lockdown drills with students will occur regularly. Families will receive 24 hour notice of when a lockdown drill will occur. The weather is beautiful, so it will be a good time to complete a fire or evacuation drill soon!

This Week:

  • We are looking for three parents/family members, three teachers, a support professional and a community member for each committee. If there are more individuals interested in being on either committee, Mrs. Moniz will consult with our SIT members to assist in making the final decisions. Our goal is to gather a diverse group of representatives.

The School Improvement Team focuses on creating and measuring school-wide goals aligned to the district strategic plan. The Special Education Task Force will provide feedback and share perspectives on special education related topics, draw attention to areas of concern, and contribute to solutions.

Applications are due by September 15, 2022.

From the PTO:

Welcome Nayatt Families!

We are so excited that the 2022/2023 school year is about to start! We can’t wait to see all of the returning children and meet students who are new to our wonderful Nayatt community! Our first PTO meeting will be on Thursday, September 22nd at 6:30pm. We hope this meeting will be in person and will reach out closer to the date to provide an agenda and location. We also want to provide a few quick updates:

1.       The PTO is migrating away from PTOffice and will be using Membership Toolkit moving forward. We are still in the process of setting up the new website and will send out membership sign-up information within the next couple of weeks. Membership Toolkit will be the primary way to become connected with other families and classrooms in the school. This is also where your child’s room parent will be able to get your contact information to provide you with class-specific information.

2.       We are still looking for volunteers to serve on a few PTO committees. Please reach out to either of us if you want to hear more! We can be reached at president@nayattpto.org.

We are looking forward to a fun year!

Have a great day!
