Empowering All Students to Excel
Today we celebrated our first/last Town Meeting for the 2020-2021 School Year, hosted by our fabulous 3rd graders. They honored our retirees, Mrs. Fales and Mrs. Acciardo with a poem, shared some great acrostic poems on the meaning of Nayatt, performed skits, received library awards, had a dance party, and more. The third graders and their teachers assembled in the garden and we zoomed with the K-2nd graders. After the Town Meeting, each class was treated to Palaggi’s frozen lemonade provided by our Nayatt PTO. Our PTO presidents, Kristen Antonio and Katie Carroll, were on hand serving lemonade. They also have gifts for our retirees. Thank you!
In this year of a pandemic, when we were one of the school districts with full in person learners from K-6, our PTO has always been behind us and supported us. We are so grateful for the endless support and kindness from the Nayatt families.

Grade 1:
High Frequency Words are the most commonly used words in our language. These words are very important for children to learn how to read and to spell. Many HFW are regularly spelled and decodable. Some HFW, however, are more tricky and contain a letter or letter combination that do not follow common letter-sound correspondence. We call these words Red Words (Heart Words). Some Red Words are permanently irregular, but others are temporarily irregular, meaning students haven’t learned the letter-sound correspondence in that word just yet. How do parents see the progress reports?
Once they are "published" to aspen an email is sent to the parent letting them know they are available to view/save/print from aspen.
Parents need to know their username and password to aspen in order to open the progress report.
Please remind parents if they do not know their username/password to email x2help@barringtonschools.org asap.
The Technology Dept. gets TONS of password resets after progress reports are sent and it takes days to resolve.
