Sweetheart Dance Save the Date: Our annual Sweetheart Dance is coming up on May 8, 2026. This fun night for our Sowams students (only) and their one guest takes place at the Barrington Middle School. More information may be found here. Also, sign up information will be sent out at another time but make sure you mark your calendar now.
Yearbook Boosters: Want to congratulate your child on a successful year? Want to thank a special adult at Sowams? The boosters are the way to do it! More information can be found here. Boosters cost $15 per message and are on sale now through April 3rd.
Sowams Yearbook: I promise you - your child will ask you for a yearbook after the deadline for ordering (April 28th) has passed! Yearbooks are $23. To order your Sowams yearbook for 2025/26 go to: www.coffeepond.com; Click on Yearbook Program tab; select Yearbook Order & enter password: sowamsstar
SurveyWorks Parents: Each year, the Rhode Island Department of Education asks various stakeholders in our school to take the SurveyWorks survey. Parents are asked to take about 15 minutes to complete this survey. The survey may be accessed here.
Progress Reports: The second trimester progress reports are scheduled to be released to parents on Friday, March 27, 2026. You will receive an email indicating that you can access them in Aspen. If you do not know your username and password, you should contact aspenhelp@barringtonschools.org. We do not have access to usernames and passwords at the school.
Nayatt 5K: The annual Nayatt 5K is coming up on April 11, 2026. You can find more information about this fun event, including registration information, here.
Hampden Meadows Tough Tiger: The always fun Tough Tiger is taking place on May 17, 2026, This is a fun, family event that takes place each year. More information about this, including how to sign up, may be found here.
Kindergarten Registration: Don’t forget, if you have a child turning five years old as of September 1, 2026, you can register your child for kindergarten. All of the registration information may be found here. Please share this information with your Barrington neighbors, too.
School Calendars: There are two calendars posted on the district’s website. The first is an updated calendar for this school year and the other is the calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.
No School: Just a reminder that we do not have school on Friday, April 3, 2026, in recognition of Good Friday.
Community Notices: There are a lot this week: Barrington Booster used sporting goods sale, Barrington Community Theatre summer camp, East Bay Lacrosse adaptive lacrosse program, Barrington Rec’s Pickleball summer camp, Barrington Rec’s summer camps, marine science camp, and Sowams Heritage Project speaker series.
