Superintendent’s Search: Barrington Public Schools has started the process to look for our next Superintendent of Schools. With that in mind, there is an opportunity for families to provide input about what you think is important for our district moving forward. On Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM, you are invited to participate in a focus group. To participate in the focus group, email kotsirisc@barringtonschools.org for the zoom link.
District Strategic Planning: Our district is also starting the process for coming up with a new Strategic Plan for the Barrington Public Schools. Your input is an important piece to making sure everyone in our community has a voice in the process. Please click this link to take a brief survey. More information may be found here.
Speedway Volunteers: We are looking for some volunteers to assist with Sowams Speedway (mileage club). We run the Speedway on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:50-12:15 (kindergarten and grade 1) and 12:20-12:45 (grades 2 and 3). If you are interested in volunteering, you may sign up here.
PTO’s Extended Day: The PTO is happy to announce its Extended Day Enrichment is starting soon. These after school classes will take place from 2:35 pm - 3:35 pm on either Tuesdays or Thursdays for six weeks (between February and April vacations). An informational sheet listing the classes, eligible grades and course descriptions can be found here. Registration information will be coming soon and rosters will be determined by lottery. PTO Family Event at Providence Bruins: The PTO is hosting a family, fun event at the Providence Bruins on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 3:05 PM. Information about purchasing tickets may be found here.
PTO/Arts Alive for Grades 2 and 3: Save the date for a parent meeting about the second and third grade play. On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 6:00 PM, Arts Alive will be hosting a virtual informational meeting. It will be an opportunity to find out about the audition process (all students do get a part), rehearsal schedules, logistics, expectations, and have your questions answered. Please email kotsirisc@barringtonschools.org for the zoom link. Registration for the play will take place in early March.
PTO Fun Friday: We will have a Hilarious Hat Day on Friday, January 19, 2024.
No School: As a reminder, we do not have school on Monday, January 15, 2024, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
