Here’s this week’s Backpack Express for you reading pleasure:
Family Math Night: Thank you to all the families who came to last night’s Family Math Night. They had a great time learning various games that you can play with your child with a deck of cards or dice. You can find the various directions to the games from last night here. Also, thank you to our math specialist, Mrs. Squatrito, and her team (Mrs. Felag, Mrs. Lally, Mrs. Howard, Mrs. Marcello, Miss Lovegreen, Mrs. Silva, Mrs. Remington) for organizing the family night and for volunteering their time.
Panorama Survey: You have received information from the Superintendent’s office about a parent survey to provide feedback on our school. Click here to take the Fall 2023 Panorama Family Survey by December 14, 2023. It will take about 15 minutes to complete. All feedback is important for our continued success.
Parent Conferences: Most parent conferences will take place this Friday. At the conference, it’s important that you not only ask about your child’s academic performance but also your child’s social/emotional development. Elementary students do not have school on this day.
Progress Reports: Along with conferences, students will receive a progress report on how they are progressing during the first trimester of school. You can access the progress report through Aspen. (We, typically, do not send home hard copies of the progress reports.) Information on how to read the progress report may be found here. If you cannot remember your Aspen username/password, please email x2help@barringtonschools.org for a reset. We do not have access to your username/password at the school.
Save the Date: The PTO will be sponsoring a Lantern Walk on December 20 from 6:00-7:00 PM. More information will follow.
Hanukkah starts tomorrow. On behalf of us at Sowams, I hope all who celebrate Hanukkah have a very happy holiday.
