Support 8th-Grade Year-End Events:

We can’t believe we are just about a month away from the end of the 2024 - 2025 school year. In BMS tradition, we have a fun-filled sendoff for our 8th-grade students.

  • Kendbrin Field Day

  • Semi-Formal Dance

  • Bridging Ceremony

Typically, 8th-grade families have donated supplies and time to help support these events. With that said, I would like to share the sign-up genius with our 6th and 7th-grade families as well. This could be a great opportunity to “pay it forward.”

~ Spotlight on Learning ~

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Ms. Taglione. This person deserves spotlight because of the environment she brings in the classroom and the power to keep her students going when completing hard tasks such as essays and she does a wonderful job making sure that everyone in the classroom has what they need. (Nominated by BMS Student, Thalia Bailie).

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Vargas, Mrs. Nelson, Ms. Fadale, and Mrs. Skadberg.  A million thanks to Lynn Vargas, Kelly Nelson, Janna Fadale and Amy Skadberg for your outstanding, round the clock service and support to parents! From timely responses to emails and voicemails, fielding questions when we call in, setting up IEP meetings, locating a student when he/she forgets to come down for early dismissal, tracking down a forgotten Chromebook in a break out space, securing a lost phone that was left behind on a desk, to carting in sports bags, water bottles and snacks … I could literally go on and on! And that’s just from one parent! You do so much and we appreciate it more than you know! Thanks again! (Nominated by a parent of a BMS student).

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on the following 8th Grade Students and TA’s.  I would like to thank eighth-graders and TAs who helped us with a HUGE end-of-year library project. Special thanks to Amalia Bianchi, Claire Bickford, Laila Bremer, Sean Caldarella, Vincent Caswell, Nora Coughlin, Patrick Hodgkin, Luca Kuffner, Aaron Kwolek, Nola Laorenza, Lucia Oliver, and Frank Pollard for all of their hard work. I would also like to thank Bronwyn Ellis and Katherine Ford for all of their assistance and ensuring "quality control." You all made an overwhelming task possible! (Nominated by Mrs. Roy).

This week, we would like to shine our BMS Spotlight on Mrs. Stanchina, Mrs. Gray, Mr. Methany, Ms. Gladney, Mrs. Polando, Mrs. Ristuccia, Mrs. Saltzman, Profe Villela, Mr. Promades, Ms. Auber, Mr. Hession, Ms. Spillane, Mrs. Goldman, Mrs. Gaynor, Mr. Stegar, Mrs. Lea, Mr. Moran, Mr. Blanchet, and Ms. Maiorana for volunteering your time, keeping our 8th grade students safe, creating memories that will last a lifetime, and making our 8th Grade Trip to Washington, DC an amazing experience for our students! This trip would not be possible without our amazing chaperones. Thank you for all that you do.

Do you know of a BMS Faculty/Staff/Student member who is shining bright? If you do, please complete the form below and we can include the nomination in an upcoming newsletter.
