On Friday, November 12, 2010 residents and/or parents/guardians received a test message from the CodeRED Emergency Communications Network. The message is the direct result of a joint effort between the Barrington Public Schools and the Town of Barrington to provide a service through which officials can notify families or community members of emergency situations or critical alerts. The system will only be used in the case of an emergency.
For school related messages, CodeRED will be using phone numbers periodically updated from the student information system. For town related messages, CodeRED will be using phone numbers on record through reverse 911. Updates to the numbers used by the town can be made through a link on the Town Website – www.ci.barrington.ri.us
